There are many new developments at Traditional Natural Plaster Company, including a remodel of our website and a new section for news. Thanks to Corporate Big, and Sarah Magrish Design
The biggest change though has without a doubt been the introduction of a new product from American Clay calledEnjarre. And our new machine for applying it.
Enjarre is American Clay's Commercial Veneer Plaster. They have reformulated their original clay plaster to be a one coat application. and the material cost of this new product is in a different camp altogether. The whole process is designed for larger projects mainly commercial. The material is purchased in pallet increments, with the natural pigments included in the mix.
Traditional Natural Plaster Companies first project with Enjarre, and also the first project in The Portland Area began August 13th. This has been a great project, for great clients, in a beautiful house. The house is a timber framed house done by New Energy Works Timber Framers,. The exterior of the house is sided in reclaimed barn wood and wine stained redwood from old wine-vats. And the interior will show case the reclaimed wood provided by Pioneer Millworks . I am excited to see plaster meet all of the beautiful wood finishes.
The elemental nature of the clay plaster really matches and completes the feel the other natural materials used used in a building. I am also excited to see that the enjarre product has made it affordable for this entire house to be done in American Clay. We are gearing up for more projects of this size and larger.
On this project we have used the Enjarre as a one coat system and also as a base coat for American clays original clay plasters Loma and Maritimo in other parts of the house. Using the Top coat in certain areas has allowed us to mix up the colors and texture a little bit more than Enjarre is designed to do. Even when using Enjarre just as a base coat for American clays other materials, Loma ,Marittimo, and Porcelina the cost is reduced significantly on larger projects.
